As Tung Wah Group of Hospitals has organized the event since 2011, aims to promote the healthy lifestyle and the active sport participation of the people with Intellectual Disability, and to advocate the message of community inclusion as well. Evidence proves that people with ID are able to be good athletes, when opportunities are available.

Organized by TWGHs with generous support from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, the TWGHs “iRun” - Hong Kong Jockey Club Special Marathon 2017 has been held successfully at the Central and Western Promenade(Central Section)and Lung Wo Road. Over 3,800 athletes with Intellectual disabilities and pair-up runners participated in the event.

To raise the public awareness on mental health, the highlight of iRun 2017 was “Mindful Run”. One hundred and fifty Mental Health Ambassadors led participants to practices “Mindful Run”. Furthermore, “Wheelchair Parade” was also added to this year’s programme to further promote the concept of inclusion.

TWGHs “iRun” – Hong Kong Jockey Club Special Marathon 2018 will be held on 14th January 2018, also celebrating its 8th anniversaries. The event information is going to update on the website and Facebook soon, for the online registration will be ready by mid of June. Let’s join hand, RUN FOR INCLUSION.
